Sophie: Hi, David. You look tired.

David: Hi Sophie. Mmm, I did not sleep.

Sophie: Are you okay? What’s the matter? 

David: Well, as you know, I recently completed my studies and now I work at a hospital. The long work hours make me very tired. I have many duties and sleepless nights have become typical since I started attending to sick people.

Sophie: Being a nurse during residency must be extremely hard.

David: Yes, it is very hard. I work long hours. There are emergencies and I don't have time to eat or rest. 

Sophie: That sounds difficult. What helps you keep trying when the work is hard? 

David: To tell the truth, the hard things don't ever fully stop. However, helping people get healthy again inspires me to keep going.

Sophie: How can you stay positive?

David: It's hard but talking to my colleagues helps.

Sophie: You need to take care of yourself, David. Getting sick from stress will not help anyone. Have you thought about ways to relax? 

David: Honestly, I have no time.

Sophie: You need balance in your life, David. Maybe doing relaxing activities would help, even just taking some minutes to clear your mind or do something fun.

David: You are right. I will try to rest more. And do some fun things too. I need a balance between work and rest. Thank you for the talk, Sophie.
